Collaboration with Burgenland University proves HVAC training programme
Purmo Group is pleased to announce the completion of a pilot expert-training programme in HVAC solutions. The pilot has been run in collaboration with Fachhochschule Burgenland GmbH, a university of applied science in Austria, which provided academic expertise in its design and delivery.
Purmo Group is one of foremost suppliers of products, systems and solutions for indoor climates. In 2021 it announced its strategy to expand beyond just manufacture and to provide solutions that actively reduce the environmental impact of indoor climates, stating that ‘perfect indoor climates should not cost the planet’s climate’. Currently, 18% of all energy consumed in Europe goes into the heating and cooling of residential buildings. Reducing this figure would be a major step forwards in combatting climate change.
The global initiative, named the PG Academy, is critical to the Group’s mission. It will be used to promote specialist knowledge of all aspects of HVAC solutions to staff. In a total of 30 modules, the courses will cover topics from essential thermodynamics to aspects of indoor-climate comfort such as the reaction of the human body to temperature changes. It will also include advanced modules in solution selling and the design of systems for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning - especially taking renewable energy into account.
With the pilot complete, the Group will be rolling out the initiative to training centres; its first being the PG Academy in Austria, which opened in October 2023. Training will begin in early 2024.
