Purmo Group is pleased to announce its acquisition of UFHN, a UK-based company specialising in the design, supply, and installation of hydronic and electric underfloor-heating systems, heat pumps and controls. The acquisition accelerates the Group’s growth into markets for complete indoor-climate solutions that are easier to install and represent superior energy savings.
UFHN has over 20 years of experience in offering bespoke systems to public and listed buildings, private residences, multi-residential developments, schools and care facilities. It operates a multi-channel strategy, selling to installers and wholesalers.
The acquisition supports Purmo Group’s solution-selling strategy in several ways. It increases its underfloor-heating expertise, introduces installation-service capabilities, strengthens the Group’s position within the UK market, and reinforces its commitment to delivering complete indoor-climate solutions.
UFHN is based in Wimborne in the south of England. In addition to system design, installation and maintenance, it offers electric and hydronic underfloor systems, floor construction, heat-pumps, pre-insulated pipes, and acoustic and thermal insulation. It sources optimum products from leading recognised brands.
In 2021, Purmo Group announced its strategy for whole systems that substantially improve both installation and building-performance. The announcement was followed by the acquisitions of solution-providers Thermotech in Sweden, Unitherm in Ireland, and now UFHN, which join the Group’s existing solution-brands of Emmeti and Merriott. The Group already offers arguably the most complete range of products and systems for indoor climates.
John Peter Leesi, CEO of Purmo Group commented: “UFHN brings a significant raft of experience from a diversity of customer markets. As well as design and supply, the Company is also a hands-on installer, which will bring us a lot of synergy and understanding with our customers. UFHN in combination with our own Unitherm is particularly welcome news, since there is both potential and demand for better installation of better-performing climate solutions.”

About Purmo Group
Purmo Group has positioned itself at the centre of the challenge created by indoor climates. In the residential sector alone, the heating and cooling of buildings consume over 17% of the EU’s total energy and make up almost 12% of its greenhouse-gas emissions. Through 72 years of development, acquisition and growth, Purmo Group now offers products and systems for every part of generation, distribution, emission and control of indoor climates, as well as having the foremost experience in the design, installation and performance of systems. The Group operates out of 23 countries and delivers to over 100. By offering simplicity to installers and energy savings to end-users, it intends to deliver upon its vision that perfect indoor climates should not cost the planet’s climate.
