Purmo Group is continuing to assess its manufacturing footprint and operational efficiency as a part of its strategy acceleration programme, Accelerate PG. The operations in the United Kingdom are transforming to reduce complexity and improve capacity utilisation, including potentially consolidating all manufacturing operations to one manufacturing location. As a consequence, the Group has entered into consultation with employee representatives regarding the possibility of relocating production from its plant in Hull, United Kingdom. The process is subject to local consultation.
The plant employs 37 employees working in the manufacturing of low surface-temperature radiators, fan convectors and other components. The production would potentially be relocated to other manufacturing locations in the United Kingdom.
“The reasons for us to enter into the negotiations with employee representatives in Hull are to reduce complexity and improve overall production efficiency in our UK operations. We have decades of history in Hull where our strong Myson brand is well known, and we will continue to serve our customers with the same quality regardless of these circumstances.” commented Erik Hedin, Chief Operating Officer of Purmo Group Plc.
